Barratt 2017 Piccadilly Valley Sauvignon Blanc
The wine displays citrus, pear, tropical fruit, herbaceous and gooseberry aromas followed by a palate with persistent fruit flavours, minerality and crispness from natural grape acidity.
Barratt 2014 Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay
This is an elegant cool climate Chardonnay with characters of citrus, fig, stone fruit and butterscotch balanced by oak-derived toasty, smoky notes. The palate is rich, creamy and lingering but finishes fresh with natural grape acidity.
Barratt 2015 ‘Uley Vineyard’ Pinot Noir
Still young, this wine displays a fresh crimson colour with cherry and bright berry fruits along with spice, smoky and sappy characters. Fine structural tannins support the smooth and lingering palate. Should mature and improve over at least 7 to 10 years.
James Halliday’s 2017 Wine Companion Rating 96
Barratt 2011 ‘The Ambrose’ Merlot
A complex nose of mulberries, blueberries, plums, savoury olive notes, cedar, earthiness and chocolate is followed by a soft palate with fine tannins, good length and balance. Despite its age at release (6 years) this wine continues to develop and has potential to age and improve for some years yet.
