A great tasting in a embassy of Adelaide Hills Wine.
Such a pleasure to stand by an open fire and meet people from all over the country and world and talk about the exciting flavours of the Piccadilly Valley particularly when one is surrounded by their peer’s product in one central location.
We were showing our 2013 Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and 2010 Merlot (all of which are available at the Adelaide Hills Wine Centre). A great reception with fantastic questions about the region, the varietals and the methods employed to deliver such handcrafted distinct tastes.
A cool autumn night, the Pinot Noir was the stand out for me, even though I prefer to not play favourites. Its bold length and excellent tones create great tannin structure without the astringency, hints of cherry and a dull smokey finish linger – hauntingly – just perfect for a season in constant change with vibrant colours and hues; or to toast your senses as the fire crackles.
Looking forward to revisiting and supporting a great centre for local wines for another tasting. Always good to make new friends and even better to share new flavours with them
